Handling kids at parties is a big challenge for the host. You have to keep them busy so they don’t get bored and involve themselves in mischievous activities. Planning some fun activities and games is a great way to keep them occupied so the parents can relax and enjoy the festivity. The games and activities must be age-specific and should match with the theme of your party. If you are hosting a Thanksgiving Party this year, here are some games and activities that you must consider for kids attending your celebration. Pass me the hot Thankerchief Make all the kids sit in a circle and give one handkerchief to them. The kids have to pass the handkerchief among themselves, singing the poem ‘Thankerchief, Thankerchief around and around you go, without knowing any destination to stop. But when I know, I will say what I am thankful for on this very day’. When the poem ends, the person holding the Thankerchief will have to share one thing for which he/she is thankful. Keep repeating the game until all of them have got their turn. Turkey Hunt Kids love treasure hunt, as it makes them feel like a cop or like their favorite superheroes. Therefore, this game is a great way to keep them busy for long. Hide several small and medium sized plastic toy turkeys in the room or outdoors and ask the children to find them. Add drama to this activity by giving them a treasure hunt map and some clues. The one who will find out maximum number of turkeys will be the winner. Balancing Chopstick Passing GameYou will need chopsticks, un-shelled walnuts, acorn, peas, and a small plate for this game. Give each player a set of chopsticks and place all the other materials on the plate. Ask them to pick up one of the objects with the help of the chop stick and pass it over to the next player who will again hold it with the chopstick, and pass it to the next. The kids have to pass all the objects back to the same plate without letting them fall. You can even use spoons if the kids find it difficult to play with chopsticks. This game is meant for slightly grownup kids and can even be enjoyed by adults.
